A two-step equation needs two inverse operations to solve, such as subtracting then dividing. For example, 3x + 5 = 20 is solved by subtracting 5, then dividing by 3.
Undo the operations in the reverse order they were done to the unknown. Usually that means undoing adding or subtracting first, then multiplying or dividing.
Substitute the answer back into the original equation. If both sides are equal, the answer is correct.
Tuterly turns every missed maths question into practice tailored towards the student, not just a generic worksheet.
